Rob ‘Bamboo’ Cifre
Stamford, CT
Rob Cifre is one of today’s most exciting house and techno DJs in America. With over 15 years of dance music experience he is also the Managing Director/Founder of Agency Sounds

DJ Dread
Stamford, CT
Of an eastern European decent, Victor fled Ex Communist Romania as a child with his native mother and father. First traces of musical inclinations came early in his childhood, his father being an audio engineer allowed Victor to interact with equipment as well as being open to a wide range of music. His first experience with electronic music came in early 1986 while attending Cafe a small club in Greenwich CT, where Moby was the resident DJ. After watching and listening to Moby blend a wide range of music from early house beats to the Nu Wave/Industrial movement at the time, Moby’s ability to move and control the crowds became a major inspirational factor in Victor’s career. His first residency and also the first time he had a live audience came at – Nightbreed – a new night which catered strictly to NuWave/Goth/Industrial sounds. The night was a big success and catapulted him to new heights after which a whole array of guest spots to such legendary clubs as : Palladium, The Bank, Ivy, Red Zone, Mirabelle, Dragon’s Lair, Citi Limits… came about.

Presently, he’s always searching for new sounds, constantly changing with the times and expanding his horizons with new ideas… he’s well known for his hard driven sounds, but you can always see him spin an array of tribal, tech house… always with a hint of techno, always on the edge… and as always, he’ll push the underground resistance forward.

Smash Gordon
Baltimore, MD
Smash Gordon certainly lives up to his name. After a freak accident where a large tank of dangerous, destructive chemicals accidentally spilled on his head, Smash was born into a world of violence, anger, and fury. Smash Gorodn is known for his inability to sleep, his infinite passion for throwing large objects, inhaling small children, and smashing every single aspect of his life into small pieces. Because of this Smash Gordon is a danger to himself and everyone around him.

Smash is kept in high security behind 7 inch thick titanium bars when not performing. Even the simple presence of a hater will send him into a furious rage, causing club banger after club banger to rain endlessly upon a concertgoers gentle face. Smash has performed on stage with the likes of POTD, Deadmau5, Kill the Noise, AC Slater, Rusko, Bird Peterson, and countless, countless other names. You enjoy dancing, he enjoys blowing things to pieces, and leaving nothing but rubble.

Scottie B
Baltimore, MD
Becoming one of the most requested and sought after djs in the world isn’t something that happens overnight. Scottie B has accomplished what every other DJ aspires to: he’ll forever be known as the innovator of a musical genre that transformed a regional sound into a style that now influences countless DJs worldwide.

Baltimore Club music is raw. Ol’ Dirty Bastard raw. Like eating hamburger that has not been cooked, teeth clenched into the meat as blood drips down your chin, raw. B-more Club music prides itself on being rough, rugged. It’s nothing if not unpretentious.

“The DJ was an extension of the crowd,” Scottie B says, “and there was a lot of nonsense going on at these clubs, from fist fights to cheating, so the sound was made as a reflection of that.”

This is the kind of primal music that makes you want to dance. It exists off emotion. In the late 1980s, Scottie B was known for his ability to mix any style of music, and out of this developed a hybrid of hip-hop, house, club and hip-house. The sound is exemplified by an 8/4 beat structure, a tempo that ranges from 126 to 130 beats per minute. There might be sampled break beats of the songs, repetitive hooks of well known hip-hop and R&B songs, as well as the use of weird pop culture references and of course, most notably, there’s the kind of raw sex talk that would make Luke from 2 Live Crew blush and Bill O’Reilly’s head explode.

Besides being one of the pioneers of the scene and a top-notch DJ and producer, Scottie B also runs one of the most successful B-more Club record labels, Unruly Records (unrulyonline.com), with his partner, Shawn Caesar. Since 1994, they have been putting out the best releases in B-more Club, and their label roster now reads like a Who’s Who of the scene, with artists such as Rod Lee, Blaqstarr, KW Griff, DJ Class, Say Wut and K-Swift.

“I know everybody will say Scottie B = club music, but I play more than that, you know what I mean,” he says. “And I try to get out of that hole to a point. Of course, I want ‘em to know who the best guy for that job is, but it’s not the only job that I can do.”

Shock Trauma (Live)

Cool DJ Willie has been a staple in the nightlife community since he moved from Columbia in the early 90’s to Baltimore to help promote the legendary Fever events put together by Scott Henry and Charles Feelgood at the infamous Paradox nightclub. From Florida to Boston he and his friends reached out to all partiers on the east coast to preach the gospel of the Baltimore/Washington DC rave scene.
In 1995 DJ Willie started promoting his own downtempo events at Profusions, which helped launch the careers of many local bands and musicians such as Laketrout and Dj Infinity (who was elected best DJ by the City Paper) while keeping the event exciting with extravagant decorations and surprise guests. This is where he learned to DJ and moves crowds.Moving the event to a larger location at the Redwood Grill DJ Willie started making inroads into the hip hop and rock and roll scene by booking both genres on the same night. After two years at Redwood Grill Cool DJ Willie moved his event to Goodlove and hooked up with Big In Japan who would rock downstairs while he DJ’ed upstairs winning best night out in Baltimore by the City Paper.
In the spring of 1999 Cool DJ Willie took his eclectic sound to the airwaves on 88.9 WEAA where he founded the Audio (in)Fusion, which was dedicated to bringing the electronic sounds of the underground to the masses.Hosting guests from all over the world propelled him to DJ at events all across the country and places like Aruba and Mexico. At the same time he became a resident DJ at Red Maple and hosted many events thru out the mid-Atlantic region. In 2001 he started producing music under the moniker Shock Trauma, an experimental IDM band heavily influenced by Drum and Bass, which he continues to this day.
In 2005 Cool DJ Willie packed up and moved to Southwest Florida to help open EnVie Lounge where he was the music coordinator/DJ for 2 years helping the nightclub win multiple awards around the area.EnVie became the first nightclub in the area to host international DJ’s like Oscar G, Cedric Gervais and many others. Not content to play in just one area Cool DJ Willie reached out to likeminded promoters and found himself playing Daytona, Miami, Coral Gables and the legendary Church St in Orlando.
Ironically bored with the sun and the fun DJ Willie moved back home to start Innasound Music with DJ Jason Gray and helped form their production team which is releasing their first long player in the fall 0f 2010.

dredBANG
Baltimore, MD
Bernard Bender (DJ dredBANG) has been spinning for over a decade and is one half of Burgess & Bender who host Saturday nights at the Paradox.

Stylo
Baltimore, MD
As it turns out, DJ Stylo’s career with, and passion for, music is not a new phenomenon. Rather, it has its roots in the happenings of a childhood rich with diversity and inspirations. Jazz, classical piano, trumpet lessons, breakdancing with friends and family, all these influences have caused the music fan in him to surround itself constantly with rhymes and rhythms. The music must reign.

DJ Stylo’s (pronounced Stee-low) focus and specialty these days is mainly House, deep and soulful. He also has a vast repertoire of Downtempo styles, ranging from Nu Jazz and Neo-Soul to Brazilian, Dub Reggae, and to underground, noncommercial hip-hop rhythms filled with the pulsing sounds of urban society. The DJ has been hired to showcase his unique blend of sounds at a variety of events, including clubs and lounges, art gallery shows, and private parties from Atlanta to Pennsylvania.

This DJ has been spinning on and off since 1985, his first piece of equipment was two Technics tape decks in which he over-dubbed songs to create a mix for the group of guys that he and his brother were breakdancing with. His latest foray into this arena began in early 2001, when he moved back into the greater Washington D.C. Metro area. Although already busy with a daytime career in the computer industry (he is the Information Technology Director at the oldest school of music in the United States), he found that his love for music just wouldn’t let go. The desire to bring music to dancers and party-goers that would not necessarily be heard on the corporate radio waves would not let him rest. Thus, he brought together some of the music in his collection into an eclectic mix and started passing it around to friends.

Through this labor of love, he has also been able to be one of the first local outlets to feature the music of diverse talents such as Si*Se (www.sisenyc.com, Turntables On The Hudson), Kristia Di Gregorio (kristia.com), Eli and Joos (GroovaDelica.net), Ms. Nyema (famousnobodies.com, DC), Sunchasers (UK) which recently had their hit ‘Sunshine in London’ featured on Ugly Betty (ABC), Adventures in Sound (UK), and Dolphin (www.wardolphin.com, Baltimore). DJ Stylo has also been busy with producing his own music and remix projects, including his exclusive remix of Sade’s Bullet Proof Soul (2006).
